Livy, Ab urbe condita (Books XXI–XXX) Florence, 15th century (1463) This classic humanistic codex was copied and subscribed in 1463 by “Anastasius ser Amerigi de Vespucijs”, father of the better-known Amerigo Vespucci. It illustrates the average manuscript format (330 x 225 mm; w/h ratio = 0.681) and reflects the so-called ‘invariant proportion’ (ranging from 0.613 to 0.717). |
