In this letter the nomarch Maimachos informs Zenon that he has assigned grazing land to Kallippos and Amortaios, as Zenon had requested. Furthermore, he asks him to intercede with the official Diotimos on his behalf in order to regain the latter’s esteem. Maimachos also informs him that he has written a letter to Diotimos, beseeching Zenon to deliver the letter to the official and offering his children’s services in exchange. Maimachos also has another request to make: Zenon can help him by writing a letter of recommendation to Aristandros, treasurer of the Arsinoite nome. Zenon evidently agreed to the latter request, since the draft of the letter to Aristandros is on the verso of the papyrus.
