From 2003 entries concerning current printed matter, both monographic and periodical, are visible on-line in the SBN (Servizio bibliotecario nazionale) catalogue which is consultable from the OPAC of the BNCF (Biblioteca nazionale centrale di Firenze). Documents (e.g. photocopies and perusals) which due to their particular nature can not be described in the SBN system are not included in the on-line catalogue and are described only in the Library’s card catalogue.
Apart from the current cataloguing, the Library is engaged in a project of retrospective cataloguing in SBN. For this reason it is possible to find in the OPAC catalogue also entries concerning a part of the printed material belonging to the Library and dating back to the 16th, 17th, 18th and first half of the 19th century.
