Locandina mostra

To date this exhibition is one of the first organic studies on Coluccio Salutati, Chancellor of the Florentine Republic from 1375 to 1406 and one of the main figures of Florentine culture in the last quarter of the 14th century as well as the ‘inventor’ of Humanism.

More than 60 manuscripts are on display, some belonging to the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana and others on loan from libraries and archives in Tuscany (Florence, Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale, Biblioteca Riccardiana; Pistoia, Biblioteca Forteguerriana and State Archives), Italy (Cesena, Biblioteca Malatestiana) and abroad, viz. the Universität Bibliothek in Basel, the British Library in London, the All Souls College Library and the Bodleian Library in Oxford, the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris and the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana.
